King of the Hill (KOTH)

The King of the Hill or KOTH is a daily arena event where contesting factions capture a control point for 15 minutes. Rewards include a variety of combat equipment.

Behavior

The first faction within the control point gains control of the KOTH. Enemies must knock or kill the controller to regain access. Controllers must ensure they remain within the control point at all times, otherwise their capture time resets. Once the countdown reaches 0, the controller is combat-tagged for 15 seconds. At this stage, enemies still have a chance to overtake the winner by killing the controller in the KOTH arena. The event is closed once the controlling player leaves combat. Reward is given in the form of a 'KOTH Lootbag' upon leaving the arena. Loot table can be previewed in-game at any time using /koth loot.

Capture Milestones

Capture milestones of 10 minutes, 5 minutes, 2 minutes, 1 minute, and 30 seconds, are in place to offset the reset time. This means upon regaining control, a faction that lost capture at 3-minute mark will have their countdown timer continue from 5 minutes instead of 15 minutes.

Monster Siege

A siege occurs every 3 minutes during which monsters in varying numbers and strength are spawned. A buffed 'KOTH Space Demon' zombie is spawned with 20HP × 10 HP, 20 ( × 10) armor protection that deals 6HP to 16HP × 8 HP damage (varying by capture duration).

Limitations

Ragdoll, Shockwave, and (Guided) Rocket Escape custom enchantments will not function. Knockback is limited to 50% the normal knockback. Explosive Snowballs are banned. Upon death, players cannot return back to the arena for 3 minutes. After 2 deaths, players are banned from entering. Disguises are disabled. Flying is disabled everywhere outside the safezone.
