The Cosmic Alchemist or the Alchemist is a non-player character (NPC) who resides at /spawn. In exchange for XP, he offers to combine enchanted books to upgrade their level, and combine magic dusts to upgrade their tier. The Alchemist is also accessible outside of spawn (remotely) by executing the /alchemist command.

Trade Offers

Trading with the Alchemist costs XP. Two custom enchanted books of the same enchantment and level can be combined by the Alchemist to yield a book of the same enchantment with a +1 level. Books at maximum level of the enchantment cannot be combined. Only primary-tier books may be combined, however this restriction can be lifted by applying an alchemy shard onto the two books.

Magic Dust of the same tier can be traded to form a magic dust of the next higher tier. Only magic dusts of primary tiers (excluding the Legendary tier) may be combined.

Trade Evaluation

For books, the new success rate ($S^{\text{'}}$) is 25% of the sum of success rates of both books (i.e., $S^{\text{'}}=(S_1+S_2)\times 0.25$). Destroy rate ($D^{\text{'}}$) is 25% of the sum of destroy rates of both books, plus an added penalty of the maximum of the two destroy rates (i.e., $D^{\text{'}}=[(D_1+D_2)\times 0.25]+max(D_1,D_2)$). XP cost is calculated based on the enchantment rarity and level ($L$) as follows:

For magic dusts, the new rate ($R^{\text{'}}$) is the mean success rate of the two dusts. XP cost is calculated based on $R^{\text{'}}$ and the new enchantment tier ($T^{\text{'}}$) as follows:
